JA on Call is a
service project that goes to the heart of JA's mission to faithfully support the children of Saline County.
Through this project, the Junior Auxiliary meets the needs of children by stepping in to provide requested items on an emergency basis. Schools, churches and other organizations contact us to request emergency aid when children have a need that their families cannot afford. Recently, we have also begun to receive requests via the website. This has added a whole new dimension to the project. In the past, we have provided everything from choir dresses to eyeglasses to medication to school fees.
Basically, JA on Call is a bit of a "catch all" project; it is used to meet the needs that might otherwise fall through the cracks. We are quite proud of this project because it allows us to be very hands-on in our community as well as make an immediate positive impact in the life of a child. Due to the large scope of needs, we never know what the next request may be. We welcome donations to help us ensure that all requests are met.
