The volunteers of Saline County give countless hours of time, experience and talent to benefit charitable or non-profit agencies, as well as churches and civic groups.  The work is performed without expectation of pay and often without recognition or thanks.  To celebrate these caring citizens, the Junior Auxiliary of Saline County will recognize the 2012 "Kindle Thy Flame" award recipient.  The recipient of this award will be presented with a plaque at the Junior Auxiliary of Saline County's Annual Children's Benefit on February 25, 2012.

If you would like to nominate someone for award, please click the download the application below.

We look forward to reviewing all of the nominees!

Due to an unforeseen logist ical issue with the Walgreens account in regards to the pictures taken this past Saturday, we have made some changes to how you are able to access the pictures.

We have grouped the pictures into 6 different albums.  Two albums are pictures of your kids with the Chic k Fil A cow.  There is an 8 to 9 am group and a 9 to 10 am group.  These times are averages, as its main purpose is to help you with the number of photos that you will have to scroll through.

The santa pictures are grouped into the following albums: 1 through 50, 51 through 100, 101 through 150 and 151 through 200.

Once you click on the link of the album you need, you should be able to find your picture.  Then after setting up a Walgreens account (or using one you already have), you can print as many as you'd like.

These album links can be found on our Facebook page.

Thank you for your patience.  And we apologize again for the change in plans.

School is back in session and the kids seem to be back into the swing of things. This is a great time of year for our organization because there seems to be a high need for all sorts of items when the kids return to school from summer break. School supplies are at the top of the need list for the fall. Our “Tools for Schools” committee is working diligently to get requested items to the schools that seem to have the greatest needs. Shoes also also seem to be something we are commonly asked for during this time. You would be surprised how many children's shoes were worn out over the summer, but did not receive new ones to start the new school year.

Our “JA on Call” committee is partnering with every school across Saline County to see that counselors, teachers, and principals have the appropriate names and contact information to reach us, should a need arise! This is what we do. We are here to make a difference in the lives of children and their families. Call us, email us, facebook us…..no matter what the need, great or small – we’ll find a way to make it happen. The ladies of the Junior Auxiliary of Saline County have such a passion for the children of Saline County.

We won’t let you down! Until next month…..

JA on Call is a service project that goes to the heart of JA's mission to faithfully support the children of Saline County.  Through this project, the Junior Auxiliary meets the needs of children by stepping in to provide requested items on an emergency basis. Schools, churches and other organizations contact us to request emergency aid when children have a need that their families cannot afford.  Recently, we have also begun to receive requests via the website.  This has added a whole new dimension to the project.  In the past, we have provided everything from choir dresses to eyeglasses to medication to school fees.

Basically, JA on Call is a bit of a "catch all" project; it is used to meet the needs that might otherwise fall through the cracks.  We are quite proud of this project because it allows us to be very hands-on in our community as well as make an immediate positive impact in the life of a child.  Due to the large scope of needs, we never know what the next request may be.  We welcome donations to help us ensure that all requests are met.
